The courtyard can be accessed by talking to a Toad behind Peach's castle while wearing the Super Mario 64 costume.

Run back to the castle foyerand enter the character In Super Mario 64, if you get fifteen Power Stars, a rabbit will appear in the basement, and, if you catch him, he'll give you a Star.
